GENTLE GIANTS
A fine art photographic series that bears witness to the poetic surrender of the graceful behemoths who once stood regal, steadfast, and tall. These images form a visual elegy for the drowned coastal maritime forests along the southeastern coast and barrier islands of the U.S. Like grand sculptures scattered along the seashore, the tides flow through the pale, skeletal remains of these fallen trees as though memory has taken on the texture of water. These poetic ghost forests anointed by the sea—these boneyard beaches—are a breathtaking reminder of the fragility and mercurial nature of the coastal landscape.

WHILE COASTAL WINDS SWIRLED WHISPERS THROUGH THEIR TANGLED MASSES.

FEELS AS THOUGH ONE IS COMMUNING WITH FALLEN PREHISTORIC GIANTS LYING IN QUIET REPOSE.

THE WORLD’S VASTNESS AS WELL AS ITS FRAGILITY.
