Shells heaved up onto the sandy shores are the mavens of neutral hues and nature's miniature abstract canvases either pristinely sun-bleached with subtle movement of tone or bold, organic markings paired with more nuanced ribbons gently dancing through opaque, milky layers. Their tumbled, almost pearlescent interiors are incredibly butter-smooth, silk-like to the touch, elegant. In perfect contrast and equally intriguing are the intricate textural details found in the white, diminutive barnacles, patches of calcifications, and residual evidence of occupants long-departed.
